I accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfyling birth experience. I draw on my knowledge and experience to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to women and their partners. I am independent and self employed. As your montrice, I am working for you, not for your caregiver or the hospital.

Montrice services are outside the scope of practice of a labor doula and include taking vital signs, assessing fetal heart tones, and checking cervical dilation. These can be helpful if you are wishing to stay home for the better part of your labor, but want to be sure to make it to the hospital or birth center in time for delivery or if you are having a homebirth and your midwife lives a distance away and you want someone to assess you until she arrives. Montrice services are not for medical treatment, but only to assess your progress in labor.

As a trained professional, I do ask fair recompense for my services. The total fee for these services is $600. This fee include 2-3 prenatal visits, labor (when you call for me until 2-3 hours after delivery.) and 1 postpartum/lactation visit. I ask for a non-refundable deposit of $100, which is typically paid during or shortly after the prenatal conference, which is applied to the fee. I will not consider myself obligated to the birth, or on-call until I have received this deposit. The remainder of the fee is due 2 weeks before your due date.

Lactation Services

I am also an Internationally Board Certified Lactation consultant. I can offer additional breastfeeding support as needed. My fees for an in home lactation consult are $100 for up to 2 hours for the initial consult and $75 for any subsequent consult. Phone consultation is free and included in the montrice services. I do have provider numbers and can give you a receipt that you may send to your insurance for reimbursement. I cannot guarantee that the services will be reimbursed.

Classes

I also teach prenatal breastfeeding classes or I can do a private, in home class for a fee. I can also offer infant cpr classes. Contact me for class schedules.
